Title: Metabo ASR 35 hose to Festool Tools ?
Post by: Jack01 on May 30, 2022, 12:10 PM
I am considering buying a used Metabo ASR 35  as a back up vacuum for my CT 26
Is the hose comes with Merabo ASR 35 compatible to Festool tools ? I will be mostly using for festool Rotex 150

Also anyone have experience with Metabo ASR 35 ? what is the noise level? is this loud?

Never seen one in person, but I just looked it up and it appears to come with a grey hose which is NOT anti-static. Hoses should be universal though.

To me the most important things are:
Tool triggered auto start (Which most seem to have today)
Bluetooth remote (As I use mostly 5 meter hoses)

If a great price is offered I would take it though as hoses are available, and who couldn't use a dedicated dust collector for some piece of equipment.

From what I’ve seen, all tool end type from Metabo are the same as Festool, an added bonus is that also the vac end is the same as Festool’s.
I know the little battery operated one has a tool end that fits Festool tools perfectly (it’s ribbed inner) - Even that hose has a vac end that fits Festool - and of course the other way around.

Metabo’s antistatic hoses are red I believe. Look out for a red hose.

The tool-end of the Metabo (Starmix) ASR 35 hose fits standard 27mm connections.

The vac-end of the Metabo (Starmix) ASR 35 hose has a proprietary twist-lock connection and DOES NOT work with Festool vacs.

The Grey Starmix hoses are non-antistatic, the red hoses are anti-static.

I have, for the most part, transitioned my company over to the Starmix vacs (mix of Mafell and Metabo livery), and generally use Festool hoses (27mm and 36mm), with Mirka tool-end ends on the 27mm hoses.

In my experience, the Starmix vacs offer the best combination of size and performance. Some folks are put-off by the filter cleaning mechanism, but I prefer it to vacs that "thump" the filter every 15 seconds, whether it needs it or not.

For what it's worth, if the Starmix vacs didn't exist I'd give a look at the Nilfisk/Makita/Milwaukee ATTIX vac. I have the Nilfisk and it's a solid performer.

Thanks for quick feedback
This is helpful, before I make the 70 mile trip to see this unit, I wanted to make sure it will work with Festool tools.
Again appreciate the help.

I have a Metabo ASR that I use Fein and Festool hoses with, I was not thrilled with the Metabo hose

I did pick up this Metabo ASR- 35 HEPA , good condition
The seller use this for dry wall work so it was dirty, after 3 hours of cleaning it is looking good.
I will be using only for woodworking
The suction is great, I can control the suction
Tool activated.
Hose is 27 MM and fits festool tools.
The hose is nor anti static so I need to find a solution.
This is similar to Festool CT 36 E AC HEPA

I need to get new bags and considering[attach=1] flees bag
