Please remember Matt, that adapter will only work with the 20mm cutter/drill bit of the MKII variant. It's of no help with your current drill bit.

Man, just realized that after looking it up! I'm going to continue suffering through this top...I've got about 60% of the holes drilled now.

Hmm. Your set-up looks good. Only other ideas I have are to replace the drill chuck with one that holds better and/or to more frequently dress the bit with a diamond hone.
