Sys3 Front Handle Removal
« on: August 26, 2021, 10:11 AM »
The Sys3 front handle can be useful to some but in the way for others. Here is how to remove it ......................

I am betting these two notches are for a special install / removal tool. One on each side to squeeze the handle. So if you have something that can do that it should work well.

Barring that a pry tool such as this one for removing plastic vehicle fasteners works well. You will probably need two prying tools.

Pry here with the first one.

When you get enough gap, add the second one in order to finish the job.

The handle comes right off at that point.

You can also remove the front handle from the inside of the Systainer with a flat head screwdriver. I've done it multiple times and it's quite easy to do. Either way works :)

Thanks for the information. I'll give both methods a try.

Now if I could just find a place that sells the handles by themselves… Would like to add black handles to my red systainer3's.

You could ask Tim at @Systainer.Store if he has access to them; he sells a lot of spare parts, but I haven't seen front handles.  I'm sure you could at least get an answer from Tim about the possibility and what it would take.  He's good people like that.

Yeah I asked. He said at the moment Tanos isn't selling just the handles by themselves so he's unable to buy them as parts.

Thanks for the shout out.

True, Tanos isn't selling me the front handles.  I can keep asking.
