Vac Clamp?

Hello I may have missed it but will the festool vac clamp ever come back to the US? Is it still being sold in Europe? How can I purchase one? :)

No one knows if it is ever coming back. Some folks have theories, but nothing certain. I think it is brilliant, but it did not sell well at all, until the month they discontinued it.

It is also discontinued in Europe as well, so this is not a simple matter of importing one, or waiting for them to bring it back.

You can only get one on the used market, at quite inflated prices. All the unsold ones have been grabbed up and scalped quite a while ago.

There was a vicious circle. Maybe because it didn't sell well or didn't have good prospects, many resellers would not carry it in Europe.

I was interested in buying it, but not entirely convinced, I wanted to first try it out in a store... and was not able to find a store where you could have tried it... In the end, I never bought one. (I know some people order things to try them out, and if they don't like them, they ship the stuff back, asking for reimbursement. I don't like this nor have the energy for this hassle).

This made the sales get even worse, to the point that is has now been definitely discontinued, unfortunately.

Festool announced the obsoletion of the Vac-Sys in November of 2021, so there has been a lot of time to purge inventories and purchase existing units.
Fortunately, there are other vacuum units available, however, it could be argued they aren't as convenient or as versatile as the Vac-Sys.

After switching from making my own jigs, I bought a pair of Virutexs.  As I was on a budget, I did not buy their swivel model but instead got the base units and mounted them on barstool swivels.  I'm in the process of putting on Facebook Market Place or give me a PM.

I am in Europe, I have long periods of time where I am too busy to check FOG. When I saw here (with delay) that it was discontinued in the USA, it was too late for finding a system in Europe ( or only at thrice the original price!!), then I did regret that I hadn't bought one.

Same thing with the CMS System : I was interested  (in the sanding module and other modules) but never took the step, there was no store around where they could be demoed, and then when I saw on FOG with delay that it was discontinued, it was already too late in Europe and I did regret being hesitant.

Now this has tought me something: I try to buy machine more easily, even when I am not 100% convinced, and purchase many add-ons in prevision of the situation that they may become unavailable.

Can you DM me images and pricing?

For anyone who actually has one - do you know the diameter of the shaft part of the vac pads? I can't find it anywhere

The shafts of all of the pads are the same.

I actually secured two se1 clamps and pumps - (couldn’t get the Se2)
- should I sell one of the pumps and turn the Se1 clamp int basically the Se2 or double pump double clamp. I might be able to get one more pump/clamp system if anyone else wants one

I was on the fence about the vac-clamp until it was to be discontinued .
I’m sure glad I got one, now I need the addition heads.

I would think if you want to sell off a pump, you won’t have a problem.

Really a neat set up, except the old style systainers , I have considered getting new T- lok style but haven’t yet.
