Orphans

I would like to see better support from Festool on older tools.  I have a CDD 12 FX drill and an OF 1000 E-plus router for which the parts diagrams and and owner's manuals are not online. At least the parts diagram and owner's manual for my AT 65 E-plus plunge saw are online, but there's nowhere that I can order 190mm saw blades for it.  Likewise, I imagine tracking down a new battery for my CDD 12 is going to prove challenging in a couple years.

How about a little appreciation for us "early adopters"?

486299 Blade, Aluminum/Plastic, for AT 65, 68-T TC, Tungsten-carbide

Thanks, Tom, but why aren't these on the Festool site?  I feel it would say something to folks looking at new tools to see that Festool supports their products years after the sale, too.

I appreciate your links and will keep them handy.

Tom,

I am likewise interested in batteries for my "old" but still very functional drill.  However, the link doesn't work, at least as of a few minutes ago.

Thanks,

Richard

Must be a site maintenance thing or some such.  It worked for me an hour or so ago.

Tom,

I just tried the link, it attempted to find this URL, and failed.

http://www.tool-home.com/products/catalog/product_info.php/manufacturers_id/60/products_id/7722

I also went to my home page and pasted the URL into the top line, again server not found error message.  I tried this at apx 2:45 PST.

Other attempts, for products 7613 and 10800 (Router Arm and Plexiglass Template) also failed.  I attempted to access your home page, nothing.

I have accessed your home page and the above products recently.

It looks like a server is down, unless someone else can access you site now.

Sorry to be a problem,

Richard

Same result as Richard.  I cannot get anywhere on your site right now (4:53 CST, Tuesday 11/3).

If you're on, Tom, it might be from within your system, but you're not on the internet right now.

I would like to see better support from Festool on older tools.  I have a CDD 12 FX drill and an OF 1000 E-plus router for which the parts diagrams and and owner's manuals are not online.

The parts diagrams for the CDD12FX and OF1000E are available on-line via Festool UK.

Go to http://www.festool.co.uk/ and click on "Spare Parts Lists" on the left-hand menu.

For the drill, click on the + symbol next to "Drilling and Screwdriving", then "Cordless Drills", then "CDD12FX". Click on "490592 - CDD12FX" to view the parts list.

For the router, click on the + symbol next to "Routing", then "Routers", then "OF1000E". Click on "488766 - OF 1000 E 230V" to view the parts list.

Admittedly, your router probably won't be the 230V version, but most of the parts will be the same.

The manual for the CDD12FX is also online via the Festool UK website.

Go to http://www.festool.co.uk/ and click on "Downloads" on the left-hand menu. Click on "Drilling and Screwdriving", then "Cordless Drills", then CDD12FX, then cdd_9_6_fx_cdd_12_fx.zip

Forrest,

Thanks for the links.  I was actually speaking more toward constructive criticism of the USA site, rather than needing the documents, but now I know where to go if I loose my dead tree versions.

Tom,

Site is working from here, too.

jeffinsgf,

The manual, part information, etc for the ATF is still available on the USA website.  While I couldn't find the manual for the CDD, if you search you can find the batteries and charger.  I do think the old website was a little easier to find information on older products, but the new site is better for researching the current offerings.

While I don't have one handy, the printed catalog also has a section for accessories for discontinued items.  It can be a good source for finding the product number you are looking for.

If I remember correctly, Festool USA commits to having parts available for discontinued products for 7 years.
