Hi Festool, I need some advice.
My still great working CT22 needs major triage at this point. Over the years I've replaced multiple rear wheels and done Bondo and screw repairs to secure the wheel axles back onto the chassis. Wheels, axles and that chassis area have broken multiple times. Its my fault of course since I have a tendency to stack too many systainers on top of the CT when rolling into a job site.
At this point though the bottom black chassis isn't very viable to fix. I guess I could putz around with some plywood backers and other nonsense but I just don't feel like it at this point. Done too many repairs already, also need new axles and wheels.
Note to others, don't load the CT with too many systainers when traversing gravel. Duh
Anyway I have the top motor assembly (hinged part of the CT) off of the bottom. I've removed all the screws and front wheels. However I can't see an obvious way of separating the lower black 1/2 of the chassis and the upper grey 1/2. It seems like maybe they just pry apart but I don't want to damage the top 1/2 doing so.
Any suggestions?
I've already looked on the Ekat and have a parts list. Called Festool on friday but it was too late. Planning on calling tomorrow to order the bottom chassis, wheels and axle.

Seth's pictures are perfect.  I just had to replace the black part on my CT22.  It was around $150 shipped directly from Festool.  Came in only a matter of days.  The screws on the front wheels were the ones that had me scratching my head for a short bit.  There is also a screw in the middle.  Look at the EKAT diagram where it shows the number of screws that used and make sure that's how many you remove.  It's an easy fix once you take out all the screws.  I think my CT22 was going on 15 years before I decided to crack at the wheels.

Thanks guys, that was perfect. I missed the 2 screws in the front wheel wells. Once I took those out the top and bottom came apart no problem.

Awesome!  You’ll be impressed how nice it looks with the new chassis. I’m not sure if it’s better than the old, but it feels sturdier.

Hey, sorry to bump this so late, but this is the perfect thread for me. My CT22e chassis is cracked around the wheels from some fool (not this fool) dropping it. I thought about ordering the chassis. What would you advise? Just the chassis or are there other parts I might want to buy too?
