Old Festool Syslite Uni Torch Bites the Dust

My old Festool Syslite Uni Torch bit the dust tonight.  Even with a fully charged battery when you press the button to turn it on the indicator LED just flashes amber for a second. 

Is there anything that can be done with this or is it ready for electronic recycling

Not an expert- but I think it's worth a shot.  Got any TV repair shops more than 20yrs old nearby?  Some of those guys haven't had a real challenge in years. 

IF the blinkenlichts mean it's detected a dead battery, that could be REAL easy.  Like 5c capacitor easy.

If it's the LED module itself, then maybe not.  Did you check Ekat for parts?

I was hoping for a reply from festool giving me a direction on whether this was even repairable. The closest city that might have an electronics repair shop is 3 hours from where I live and paying, at todays labor rates, someone to dig into this thing isn’t practical.

I’ve tried multiple batteries so I know that isn’t the issue. I guess Im going to have to just tear it apart and see what might be repairable.  I really like this light but paying $200 on a new syslite for the ability to use a Festool battery on a light isn’t worth it IMHO.  Too many quality competitive products at a fraction of the cost😟

My Uni Torch went toes-up 5 years ago. It was out of warranty by a year or so. I filled out the form, they sent me the prepaid shipper and I received it back 5-7 days later...gratis.  [smile]

If you want a reply or information from Festool, don't rely on this thread.  Contact them directly.  I have always used that old fashioned method called a phone just because sometimes in life things happen to emails.
