I can push down on the left side of it to tighten the bit and use, but cannot press down on the right side at all. Any ideas on how to free it up? I am working around it by using a different router or reverting to using a second wrench, but would like to get it fixed.

You might want to check that the trigger lock isn't accidentally pushed in.  I have been known to do that.

Mine quit working one way not long after I got it, have been using two wrenches since.

Trying cycling off the power. @Peter Halle is probably right about the trigger lock.

Jim,

Enjoy your holiday.  I found that personally I have a bad tendency to grab the handle and accidentally hold the trigger while using the wrench.  Of course my tool is unplugged, but even accidentally holding the trigger can be the cause.

Hope that this solves your issue and that you don't need to send it in.
