KAPEX KS 120 REB Carton Dimensions
« on: November 15, 2020, 01:02 AM »
I'd like to know the metric dimensions of the KAPEX KS 120 REB shipping carton/box, and the exact gross weight, including box and everything.

The UPS label says 61 lbs.  My box was very beat up, but it measured 58.5 cm x 51 cm x 75.5 cm or 23" x 20 3/4" by 29 1/2".
The dimensions varied because of the condition of my box.

The box is not heavy enough for shipping.   It would be heavy enough for me to buy at a retail vendor and gently carry to my vehicle, but definitely not heavy enough to ship a saw across the country by box throwing gorillas.  The weight distribution makes the box hard to handle.  My box had a six inch hole knocked in it and the protractor was rattling around loose.

Hope this helps.

I told  you the height was 20 3/4".  That should be 19 3/4".  Sorry about that.  my mistake.

The 61 lbs. was what was on the UPS label for the saw.  I have seen the UPS weights off before, so cannot guarantee that, just telling you what was on the label.

If  you need the stand or wing box dimensions, let me know.  My boxes are waiting to be recycled so I can still measure if needed.

My experience with UPS and large cartons is that they tend to bang them up badly. I had a pair of 3/8" thick steel work bench legs severely bent by UPS. The box was about 50% destroyed. Amazon did a wonderful job fixing the problem. I use UPS for nearly everything else than large items. I've had several items stolen when USPS handles them. Sad! P.S. UPS overnight and 2nd day is a different story. Never had a problem and I ship high dollar items.

What was stolen by USPS-ballots?  (sorry-could not resist).  I am trying to imagine bending a 3/8" steel plate-you must have really made a gorilla mad.  If you had two flat plates back to back, that is 3/4" steel.  If they had any structure to them like angle iron then it  was probably an gorilla on a forklift.  For those of you old enough to remember, maybe it would be better to ship in old Samsonite luggage.
