Is there a permanent fix for the effected Kapex motors?
« on: December 07, 2019, 02:05 PM »
I know Festool won't respond and I guess they don't answer questions here anymore?

Hoping someone with knowledge will respond.  We are living on borrowed time with our Kapex saws and hoping that they can be permanently updated next time we send one in?
It's The FOG!  Just rotate the screen.

I don't think anyone will have this knowledge since the "upgrade" or "fix" to the "no problem here" issue is fairly new.

New and repaired saws with the different motor haven't been in the field long enough to render a definitive answer on whether the motor will last a decade or longer under what most people consider normal use.   Festool is not going to comment because they don't want their neck in a vice.

Given the track record and Festool's response/ non response I'd still say it's a junk shoot.  If the front of saw adjustment feature, and dust collection are are of utmost value to you then it's prob worth the risk.  At least until year three of ownership.
