The same thing is happening now, October 6, 2021. It would be nice if they could update their voice mail. With so many companies going out of business, it's scary to have this happen.
I don't think I ever worked for any company that updated their voicemail greeting every time there was a team meeting. Usually, someone was assigned to answer the phone during the meeting but sometimes we just let it ring depending on how busy it was that time of year/day or how important the meeting was.
To jump straight to "this multi-national company shuttered their building" is a bit extreme.
Also, if you look at the original post, the team meeting happened right around 10 AM EDT, just like today. My guess is that it's a regularly scheduled meeting and that the phones usually aren't ringing, or someone is out sick and not able to answer the phone.
I would honestly be surprised if there were more than a dozen people who work in FUSA customer support, and maybe 2 or 3 are on the phones, based on their size as a company (read: not Milwaukee, DeWalt, etc) and based on the individuals I see and hear about on Festool Live. I've worked for companies with larger customer bases and smaller phone-answering staff.
