Is there a difference between the metric and imperial of1010 other than the depth scale?  In other words can I buy the imperial part to make my metric of1010 an "imperial"? Thanks

If you call Festool customer service, they will send you, at no charge, the Imperial gauge and instructions on how to install it.  I called yesterday morning to get one for my OF 1010 and one for my OF 1400.  It speeds things up if you have your serial numbers when you call if you haven't registered the routers with Festool previously.  No hassle and they said they would be in the mail next week.

The only difference is the depth scale. The router is still "metric" with an imperial scale.

It depends upon how you define an imperial router. If your definition of an imperial router is a router that has an imperial scale hung off the side but only adjusts in metric increments...then you're a dinner winner.

I equate it to asking Siri how many miles away from your final destination you are and she answers you in kilometers...it's an answer and it gets you close, but that's about all it does.

Does anyone know if they are supplying at no charge a stick-on Imperial tape conversion for the TS55? Similar to what you can buy online.

Thanks

The TS55R comes with the stick-on Imperial tape that you can choose to install or not.  Festool does not offer one for the older TS55.

I have received my kit, and there is also an Imperial adjustable support that attaches to the side of the base that replaces the metric one that comes with the OF 1010.  So, you get the support and the depth scale, plus a wrench to be able to replace the metric depth scale.
