Forgot to Register NEW Tool in 30 days, any options?
« on: February 11, 2022, 11:04 AM »
Hey Festool,

Any options here? I didn't think there would be a timeline to register as long as I have receipt and bought from an approved dealer.

I bought in August.

Thanks

Enter it in the portal.

If that doesn't work, just call their toll free number and ask them to register it for you with the information you have.

You can register a tool at any point. Even a tool you bought second hand. It is useful when you want to order repair, search for parts, there being a recall etc.

CORRECTION:
Below is valid in Europe only.
Here a statutory 2 years warranty is applicable for consumers by law. The conditions of the All-Inclusive service/warranty are different to the base one from law. As such they cannot be "proclaimed" by manufactiurer declaration - the customer must agree with the terms which is done by the registration. One does not lose the based legal rights by that, of course.

Not doing so within 30 days of purchase means you lose out on the All-Inclusive 3 year warranty service you paid for. Festool -may- still honor the extended warranty on an exceptional basis, but it would pure goodwill there. After the 30 days there is no legal basis to demand they do.

This strictly is not correct.

It's helpful to register, but is strictly not necessary.   A purchase receipt (from and authorized vendor) is though.

Just keep your receipt.

Thanks, the OP did not disclose his/her country besides "Irish" in name. You are correct and I was not aware of the different conditions in the US.
