Why can't I log on to the festoolusa.com site. It won't load. After spending $10,000 for Festool products, I'm not happy that I can't get on that site, visit MyFestool, or register new products.   :'( >:( >:( >:(

I doubt it's a Festool problem, more likely something with the computer. I have the very same issue on an iMac and a MB Pro. Part of the screen partially loads but never completely finishes. However on an iPhone, an iPad and a MB Air, they all load as usual...no problem so I'm anxious to hear what the solution is.  [smile]

Also interesting is that Festool Germany & Festool Australia will load on all 5 of the devices.  [eek]

Here's the screen shot for the iMac...check out the loading status bar...that's as far as it will go.

And  [welcome]  to the FOG!

Cheese,

That's exactly what happens on my MBP. Funny I can also go the UK or Aussie site, but not USA. Sure hope that they fix it soon.

Well unfortunately...the issue isn't on Festool's side but rather on our side. I've deleted cache, rebooted multiple times, you name it and nothing changes. There is some quirky thing with the computers that doesn't allow the web site to load. My work around is to just switch to different devices.

I was using a MB Pro from 2010 and it loaded the Festool web page flawlessly for 12 years, I then purchased a new MB Pro in 2022 and it has yet to load the web page...go figure.

The amount of money spent does not make your issue anymore important. Without giving it a seconds consideration it is your computer.

Any way we can get some more information from anyone having issues?

OS version, browser version (I see it's Safari, but up to date?), MBP or iMac version?  Cheese I see you posted some of this information, but SHVentus only said MBP.

Does the site load in Chrome on the devices having issues?

Thanks,
Matt

Yes, I am on a MacBookPro laptop, and it is up to date. No issues with any other web site access. And, as Cheese mentioned, I can get on any of your other sites - UK, Aussie, EU, etc., etc.; just not your usa.com..

I tried on a MacBook Pro and didn't have an issue using Chrome or Safari.  I have another one I can try with tomorrow.

Are you able to try in Chrome or FireFox?  I'm just curious if it's a Safari issue

Hey @MattFestool
The iMac is running Monterey 12.6.3 with Safari 16.3.
The MB M1 Pro is running Ventura 13.2.1 with Safari 16.3.

Here is a screen capture of the iMac when typing in festoolusa.com

Here is a screen capture of the MB Pro when typing in festoolusa.com

You can see they both load to approximately the same level. This also happens when I'm in festoolownersgroup.com, go to the top of the page and click on the Festool website tab.

I don't have access to either of my Mac's right now, but from memory, you can try something if you are somewhat technical...

(Going from memory, so hang with me, it might not be exact)

Up on the top, there is a "Develop" menu item - click that
In the dropdown, I believe Safari calls it "Web Inspector" - Click on that to open it up
There should be a "Network" tab in that window somewhere when it opens up

With that open, refresh the festoolusa.com page.  If something is 'broken' it should be the last thing loaded and/or the time will just keep extending out.  If you can get that far and post a screen shot, that might help figure out the issue.

Are you running any extensions?  Go to Safari > Settings > Extensions and you can turn any that might be there off and try that perhaps.

Also, check Settings for FestoolUSA.  Go to Safari > Settings for FestoolUSA.com... when on the page.

@Cheese

I am running MacOS 12.6.5 , pretty close to yours.

What is the setting for "Pop-up Windows"?   It would be under the Safari menu "settings for festoolusa.com".

When I go to festoolusa.com, it starts loading and then does a pop-up asking about cookies.   It may be that the way you have Safari setup, if it blocks that Pop-up, the page might stop loading.  You might try allowing Pop Up windows for festoolusa.com and see if that helps.

I don't know if you can view the same setting in Safari but if you try with Chrome, you can see if any requests have been blocked (⌘+⌥ + i):

AdBlock and privacy extensions can take a heavy-handed approach some 3rd party CDNs and tracking websites so check that they are disabled for the FUSA site. There can be software running on Wi-Fi routers that also blocks certain requests.

I'm on an M2 MBP and do not have any issues with Safari and Chrome.

@4nthony Yeah, for sure!  Unfortunately, I only have a Windows machine available right now.  Tomorrow I'll have access to a Mac when back at the office.

I've asked both to try and see if they could load up Chrome or FF to see if it's a browser-dependent bug, so maybe one will try when they have a few.  Once I can get on the Mac again tomorrow, I'll be able to try some tests myself.

Also thanks to everyone for helping out! It's great to have multiple people taking a look at the issue.

Well this is interesting, this is a screen grab on the MB M1 Pro with Java enabled. You can see that everything doesn't load and the blue progress bar near the top stalls out.

This is a screen grab on the MB M1 Pro with Java disabled. Everything loads properly and you can click on the items. Does this make any sense? I'd think it should be just the opposite way around.

I’m running a MB Pro with the same version of OS.  My JavaScript is enabled ALL the time. FTUSA loads fine as does other sites.  Try resetting to defaults.  Click the History menu in Safari and choose Clear All History. You will see a new window, which clears all history and data by default.

Rights, seems opposite.  I suspect the web server can tell that Java script is disabled and can work around that.

If it works with it set to disabled you have a temporary solution, and perhaps when enabled a hint that some part of javascript is broken on your systems.

Per Neil's suggestion, last evening I erased the history on the MB Pro and the Festool website now loads properly with JavaScript enabled.  Thanks Neil...[thumbs up]

This morning I did the same with the iMac but nothing changed.  [sad]  I then erased the Safari cache and the Festool web site will still not load. However, if I disable JavaScript, then the Festool website fully loads and becomes operational but any other web site I visit does not.  [scratch chin]

I finally erased the history a 2nd time along with erasing the cache a 2nd time and the Festool website will still not load unless I disable JavaScript.

Not sure if I should piggy-back on this thread or start a new one...

On FestoolUSA, under "My Products", the links to the "Spare Parts Catalogue" for all of my tools goes to a 404 page.

Code: [Select]

The other links for repair and accessories work fine.

Cheers.

Loads without issue on my 2019 MBP running the latest version of Ventura. Trying to figure this out is a rabbit hole with all of the various OS major/minor versions and Safari versions along with browser extensions. Throw in the zealots who hold insist on running older versions (even unsupported) of OS X for various reasons, none of which should override the security concerns of running unsupported and out of date software and you have the needle in the haystack.

I'd start with browser extensions possibly being the problem. I have an extension that interferes with "Pay with PayPal". The login window opens but never loads. Disabling the extension fixes it so I disable then re-enable.
