Festool Training Update
« on: May 04, 2020, 01:55 PM »
Festool Family,

We would like to inform you that we have taken the difficult and necessary decision to close our training facility in Henderson, Nevada.  The primary purpose of the training centers is to train Festool Dealers and Festool Employees.  From time-to-time, we have offered end-user training in all our training facilities to include the one in Henderson, Nevada.  We will continue to offer dealer and employee training in our Lebanon, Indiana facility.

The decision to close the facility is directly related to the impact of the coronavirus situation.  With travel restrictions that are currently in place, the threat of ongoing and future restrictions, and the reluctance for people to travel in the near-term and in the future, we had no assurance of a beneficial use of the facility.

This decision is in no way a reflection of the training staff, the training program, or the health of our business.  Our business is strong, and we thank you for that.  We will continue to offer dealer and employee training in our Lebanon, Indiana facility.  And our partner, Greg Paolini of GPD Academy in North Carolina will also resume end-user classes at the appropriate time.
Despite this change, we are offering more ways to learn about Festool products and to follow the Festool brand.  We are using multiple online platforms to include Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Twitter.  Our trainers in Indiana have been making videos that we will continue to release on our YouTube channel.  In addition, we have begun “LIVE” broadcasts on social media where we highlight a tool or tool category and take questions in an interactive format.

We appreciate your past support of the Henderson training facility and staff.  And, as always, we are grateful for your support for the Festool brand and we look forward to when we can all be together again.

You can continue to interact with the training Festool Training Team via our social channels and festooltraining.com.

Take care,
The Festool Training Team

Well, this is terrible news.  I understand the situation at this time but I don't understand it long term.  Don't you have lots of people near NV that will not need to fly ?  I just started the FT dance and on more than one occasion it was suggested that I "get some training".  Unfortunately that is easier said than done.  I live fairly close to the Paolini site but even before the pandemic, there were not many opportunities/openings there.  There are a number of classes I would love to take but its looking more and more like I am on my own.

I am sorry to hear this. I had taken a couple of classes there with Steve Bace/Sedge. I hope Steve is still with Festool. I have also taken taken a class with  Greg Paolini who is also excellent.  But the Nevada facility is close to me in California.  By eliminating the Nevada facility you have eliminated the convenience and proximity to the Western states.

this isnt good for me. When I visit LV to see the inlaws I made it a habit of stopping by and talking to the trainers. They were very good at runing through any tools or processes I had questions about. They are the reason I bought the contouro recently.

Whats gonna happen to Steve and Allen? Are they going to have to move to Lebanon?

I am sorry to hear that we are losing the West coast training facility. I always enjoyed Steve classes. You should consider opening a training center in Portland/Vancouver area. Easy access to the West coast trade people. I would recommend putting in a building at Fort Vancouver.

Ok guys looks like Steve Bace is no longer with Festool. On his Linkedin page he shows his employment at Festool ending in May 2020. He says he "Is ready for my next home"
Too bad for Festool and all of us.  Steve was a great teacher and will be missed  I hope he finds his next great assignment soon.
