Do we register re-conditioned tools?
Per the recon site's FAQ:
Do reconditioned tools include a warranty?Festool offers a one year warranty for all reconditioned tools sold on festoolrecon.com. In order to obtain a one-year warranty, no tool registration is required.
However, some time ago, I registered a TS55 I bought through the recon site (purchased in 2018), and it is listed in "My Tools" with whatever would be left of a 3 year warranty from the date of purchase. I don't expect that warranty is valid (and I would never try to claim on it), but it did put it on my list. I haven't tried with my more recent recon purchases - I suppose it's possible that for more recent purchases, they have a cross check system in place that would either stop you or display the correct warranty info.
So, you definitely don't have to register it. But if you're a completist that wants to see all of your tools on your warranty list, you might be able to get it on there (with incorrect warranty information).
