I haven't posted this is a while, thought some might find the data interesting. For those who have not seen it before, for the past 4 months, I have had a script running that samples the Recon website every minute, records any updates, and emails me about tools that I am looking to buy. The script will miss some things that sell in under a minute (e.g. based on postings here, I know it has missed at least 2 DF 500s), but I believe it has caught most of the for sale items.
As I pretty much have everything that I want, I haven't paid much attention to this lately, but I found the cumulated data useful this week when I decided to look for a Rotex RO 90. It was helpful to see how often they came up and how long they lasted (i.e. while they come up fairly often, about every other week, they tend to sell pretty quickly, usually in < 5 minutes). Allowed me decide to wait a bit to see if it showed up and the knowledge to know that I should jump on it quickly once it does. I was able pick up the kit this morning.
Hope you find it helpful in your recon shopping.
