FestoolRecon.com still around?
« on: August 13, 2020, 09:14 AM »
Anyone heard anything from festoolrecon.com (the Festool USA refub site) recently? I just noticed it has been months since I got an email from them and was curious if maybe I had inadvertently unsubscribed or something.

The cleared out a lot of stuff a while back (when they set up a page with lots of listings), then not much later COVID happened.  They very well just aren't processing stuff during COVID.

This might just result in a huge pile of stuff in the future needing to be cleared out.

@DerickC - Also, just to add to this inquiry. I have tried to log on to my recon account and it gives me an error message that I know others have received as well. Will that problem be resolved before they restart selling reconditioned items or is that an individual problem that we need to take some sort of action to resolve?

Glad to have found this thread as I have been wondering about the recon site for a while. I had assumed it was a COVID related shut down. I’m hoping it returns in the future because while very random, it was how I acquired my TS55 and RO150.

A separate question of curiosity, did anyone notice a discordance between the website postings and the emails? The emails did not seem to be matching the site postings, not in the timing or what they were selling on the site at the time. I have an account and have purchased the above tools via the recon site so it was a little confusing to me why the emails didn’t seem to sync with what I was seeing offered on the site.

I almost bought the MFK700 in the past but the listing didn't appear to include all the original items.  It seemed to be missing the 1/4 collet, dust hood, standard threaded base us guide bushing, cord, vertical and horizontal mount, and deeper bearing set. I emailed them but no reply ... that said, do they list these tools without the original items or are the adds just not fully elaborated?  It would be helpful to know so I don't buy something in the future which then requires a bunch of extras ...

I found FestoolRecon to be very inconsistent.  I signed up several times but seldom got emails.  Others here had the same issue.
