DOMINO DF 500 motor housing alignment issue
« on: June 06, 2023, 11:33 AM »
When I pulled out my Domino today I found that what I think is called the Motor Housing is no longer in alignment.  I used it last to cut mortises in some hickory, didn't have any issues then and don't remember dropping it or anything.  I do not see anything in the manual addressing how to make the adjustment.  Is this something I can attempt to adjust without sending it in for servicing?  Thanks.

Hello, welcome to the FOG.

Please remember the cutter moves from side to side whilst you plunge the machine.  I suspect the machine has been turned off and the cutter has come to rest on a slight angle - this is how the machine works.

With the machine not connected to power, try turning the CUTTER by hand.  You should see the "side to side" motion working.

Regards
Bob

Thanks for the quick reply.  Your response was exactly correct.  I'm kind of surprised that I never noticed that before because I'm sure it must not have been the first time.
