Hi there, for quite some time I've had some questions on my mind about potential Festool products.

1. Is there a cordless tablesaw in the works for either Festool, or SawStop coming soon?
2. Is there going to be a cordless chopsaw in the near future?
3. Am I incorrect to say that Festool is now working with Sawstop? I thought I read that somewhere.
4. Since DeWalt came out with their innovative flexvolt batteries, what is Festools response to their battery system in the near future?
5. Will there be high quality larger cordless lights in the near future? For example you guys just came out with the new STL inspection light, but it has to be plugged in. Anything cordless for something that powerful in the works?
6. Does festool provide any options for larger systainers? If I wanted a bigger systainer to be custom made, would I be able to order that from Festool or Tanos?

I'm really hoping to hear back about all these questions as they've been on my mind for a long time now.

Thanks for your questions, @HIBCO Carpentry.

Cordless tools and battery technology
We generally don't discuss upcoming products until they've been officially announced. Therefore, I can't really say much about the specific products that you've asked about. (That said, none of the ones that you mentioned are planned for release in 2018.)

Cordless is a major area of focus for Festool, and we are continuing to invest in developing powerful cordless tools and batteries.

Earlier this year Sawstop was purchased by TTS Tooltechnic Systems, which is also Festool's parent company. We're now sibling companies. Sawstop continues to have their own team, and they operate mostly independently from Festool. Therefore, we can't comment on their product timeline.

We've had the privilege of getting to know the Sawstop team, and they're terrific and smart people. It's very exciting to have them in the TTS family.

Festool doesn't provide custom Systainers. The tallest Systainer is the SYS 5 TL, which is approximately 16.5" high. The longest is the SYS MAXI, which measures at 23-1/4" x 11-21/32" x  8-1/4".

If you need a Systainer taller than a Sys-V. Track down a Classic Sys-V (or IV) and add the Extension frames. It may be difficult to find the frames though.

For width, in addition to the Maxi-Sys there is also the Midi Sys. The Maxi is the widest but the Midi integrates much better with the standard sizes.
