I believe that it first came out in the middle of 2018. It’s a great add on if you have a compatible Festool Dust extractor.

Keep in mind that, to my knowledge, this has only ever been offered as a standalone add-on; it's never been offered as a pre-installed option or "trim level" on any of the CT extractors (26, 36, 48).

The only units that come with Bluetooth pre-installed are the new CT MINI-I and CT MIDI-I.  The CT 15, which shares the same housing, does not come with Bluetooth and it cannot be added after the fact.  Older CT MINI and MIDI models, with the knobs, do not have a Festool Bluetooth module option available.  I don't believe that the CT 22 or 33 can use the module, either.

I second this - it’s great with the cordless tools that have a bluetooth battery, but one is used to auto switching with corded tools - the real game-changer is the bluetooth button at the end of the hose; can’t tell you how clunky it feels having to return to the extractor to turn it on and off when I occasionally use my old Fein Dustex.

Cheers

To wit, last night I was replacing the back panel of a bookshelf that had gotten water damage.  I used my TS55 plugged in to the MIDI-I which is just a normal thing (my only corded saw is the HKC55) but when I was done cutting I removed the hose from the saw, grabbed the brush attachment and slapped it on the end of the hose, and used the button to turn the MIDI on and off to clean up the mess from the flaky plywood.

That button is the big game changer, especially for cleanup.

As a bonus, any of the tools that like to cake dust around the port are easily kept neat by tapping the button when you remove the hose from the tool.

I don't have any bluetooth batteries at all and still consider it to be a valuable option. I use it when I am working with the Zeta and Domino at the same time. I plug the Zeta into another power source, so all I have to swap is the extractor hose and hit the button. I use it with the bench-mounted Kreg jig too, as well as clean-up. It is very handy.
