So just trying to decide on a cordless purchase.  Are the new battery, chargers a year away? Two years?

All opinions welcome and thanks.

Thanks Phil,  [big grin]

Yes, asking on a weekend, can't expect anyone at Festool USA to be working.  Or I hope everyone is taking the day off anyway.

Cheers, Sam

The new Airstream batteries are currently schedule to become available in North America in mid-2017.

(I had family in town this weekend, so I tried to stay offline. Thanks for your patience.)

Thanks Tyler,

That's what the weekends are supposed to be like.  [unsure]

I can see the new battery system benefiting the cordless track saws for me.  Just not worth the wait.

How about a upgrade promo when they do come out?   [big grin]

@TylerC  Sorry but what is an Airstream battery?  Is it compatible with existing 18 V tools. or will it work only on new tools? A little detail would be helpful.

Because it's not available in North America yet, our team honestly doesn't have much more information than what's publicly available. (See the video that @Shane Holland shared.) We'll start talking about it more next year.

For now, we're focusing on HK/HKC, DWC Drywall Gun and SysLight DUO!

@TylerC ...Speaking about the HKC, will it have an imperial scale with metric detents?
